Kappa is a grayscale photo of Josh DeSeno, a former Justin.tv employee. DeSeno had been working on the original chat client for Justin.tv when Kappa was added as an emote. This was not uncommon at the time as several Justin.tv employees had added various photos of their facial expressions—but DeSeno’s photo was much more popular than his peers’. He became the face of Twitch.
A reliable, ergonomic controller—whether it’s the DualShock 4 for PlayStation or Microsoft’s Xbox One controller—is an essential gaming accessory for any player. Seek a wireless controller for console play; they free you sit anywhere in the room and play for hours thanks to built-in rechargeable batteries. If you’re a PC gamer, grab a USB controller or specially designed gaming keyboard that you can program to repeat your most-used spells and attacks.

It's been a while since I reviewed an LG smartphone and the new LG V40 ThinQ is a good one to break that dry streak. This phone features 5 built-in cameras if you can believe that! Why does anyone need 5 cameras on their phone? Stay tuned for my review coming soon. Please follow The Gadgeteer or subscribe to our newsletter so you won't miss my review. (11/21)
The emote is mostly innocuous, though in recent years it’s been used with racist connotations by some Twitch users. By mid-2016 and into 2017, users would spam the screen with TriHard whenever a black streamer appeared, often punctuating racist remarks made in-chat. TriHex finally spoke about the emote’s weaponization. He argued that banning the emote meant the bad actors won when there was nothing obscene or offensive about the emote’s conception.
This is a chair that is specifically designed for those who work day-to-day with technology as the Gesture comes with ergonomic 8-hour support (we know, game sessions go longer than that!). The chair is quick to make adjustments and molds to the user, no matter the body type. People have various preferences in the way that they sit, but what makes the Gestures so great is the type of person you are isn’t really relative as it comes with great versatility. If you sit for long hours a day whether playing online games or for work, the Steelcase Gesture comes in as premium and high-end. In our opinion however, it is worth the price if you want to be free of that well-being, long-term posture and physical health guilt.
If your game of choice entails consistent communication with a team or you’re one that likes to chat (nicely, we’re assuming!) with your live opponent, the HyperX Cloud comes with a detachable and adjustable high-quality microphone on top of it all. This is a headset that is HiFi capable and will allow you to enjoy optimal audio and pitch perfect tones so that you can exit reality and lose yourself in the moment and hear those footsteps that much clearer. All things considered, the Kingston HyperX Cloud comes at a reasonable price, and is great for PC and Mac as well as compatible with just about every console you can think of.
A quality keyboard might not seem like the most important piece of esports gear, but it’s still a crucial component for playing just about every title. Shooters use, at the very least, a handful of keys for movement, and more complex genres like real-time strategy and MOBAs rely heavily on much of the keyboard. Plus, it’s one of the biggest and flashiest PC gaming accessories. It’s no wonder pro gamers want one that works well and looks good.
Last but not least, here’s a cool little spin to what some would consider a ‘gaming accessory’. This is more of a why not than a perhaps. If you’re into organization or are like us and really just aren’t a fan of cables (especially the annoying clutter you have underneath your setup), then these are not only cheap but super effective as well. We’ve seen quite a few different spins to ‘cable management sleeves’ but through research we’ll link you to one of our favorites and most reviewed.
There are tiers of emotes, and the more subscribers a channel has, the more emotes it can have. The lowest tier (0 subscribers) can have two emotes, which though partnered streamers should have more in no time. Meanwhile, highest listed on Twitch’s site (7,000 subscribers) can have up to 50 emotes. So depending on how popular the streamer in question is, you might get a very large amount of emotes for a relatively small price.
Monkas is another member of the Pepe emote family, and one of the most important emotes on Twitch. Monkas is the word you’re most likely to see outside of Twitch chat (on Reddit or Twitter), and it’s crucial to understanding how certain communities react to it. Monkas goes back to a 4chan thread from 2011, but the illustration wasn’t used as en emote until 2016 when someone uploaded it to the FrankerFaceZ Twitch extension. But it wasn’t until February 2017, when it was dropped into Forsen’s Reddit page,, that the emote really seemed to take off. Once Forsen’s community runs with any emote or joke, all of Twitch is bound to notice, and other communities followed suit.
Jebaited is the face of well-known fighting game tournament organizer Alex Jebailey, who’s infamous for his enormous ego. According to a comment on Reddit’s OutOfTheLoop, “His ego is so big that he was actually made into a character in the game Divekick, and his head grows in size every time he wins a round.” “Jebaited” is just a funnier way of saying “baited,” as in being tricked into falling for a trap or ruse. Players and viewers can both be “jebaited” in various ways.
What also makes this mouse unique is they’ve combined different sensory technologies together enabling the user to reach never before seen speeds. The Chaos Spectrum features a ‘Delta Zero technology‘ as well as an exclusive Fusion Engine Hybrid Sensor that allows you to reach speeds of 500 IPS or higher. For us, a mouse to upgrade for must have additional programmable buttons for quick access to hot keys as well as fast response time to keep our movements precise. The Logitech G900 Chaos Spectrum is just that — a highly advanced mouse that is considered one of the best solutions for gaming equipment in the market. It’s a great choice for gamers but can also be effectively used for work purposes, making this a well-worth it upgrade.
